A Conversation with Aaron Itzkowitz of EmotionTrac

CASEpeer Co-Founder, Gabriela Cubeiro, sat down with Aaron Itzkowitz, Founder of EmotionTrac, and shed light on how AI is revolutionizing the way lawyers identify case value and prepare for success.

In the ever-evolving world of artificial intelligence, businesses across various sectors are exploring innovative ways to integrate AI as a powerful tool. One such groundbreaking application is the integration of AI in the legal industry, specifically in case value identification.

Recently, CASEpeer Co-Founder, Gabriela Cubeiro, sat down with Aaron Itzkowitz, Founder of EmotionTrac, and shed light on how AI is revolutionizing the way lawyers identify case value and prepare for success.

During the webinar, Aaron delved into the significance of testimony and evidence in influencing credibility, trust, attention, and interest in a legal case. AI-powered platforms like EmotionTrac provide lawyers with unique insights not commonly accessible through traditional focus groups. By using the front-facing camera of a device to capture micro facial expressions while participants watch videos, EmotionTrac extracts emotional data that can be utilized to analyze and enhance case strategies.

‘This is such a valuable tool for personal injury attorneys going into mediation, settlement or a trial, it helps you identify the non-verbal queues from opposing counsel, a juror, or even a judge.‘

The use of emotional data in analyzing case strategies was a key highlight of the webinar. EmotionTrac’s technology enables lawyers to gauge the emotional responses of audiences, providing a deeper understanding of how people react to specific aspects of a case. Armed with this knowledge, law firms can better prepare their arguments, tailor their presentations, and connect with juries on a more profound level.

‘It is so valuable to understand all the different modals out there that you can use for case preparation and to maximize your outcomes.’

One critical advantage of utilizing AI insights is the ability to avoid confirmation bias. With data-driven emotional responses, legal professionals can gain objective feedback from focus groups, reducing the likelihood of falling into the trap of confirmation bias, where individuals tend to seek or interpret information that confirms their preexisting beliefs.

‘It’s really about the emotional data, because emotions trigger almost all the decisions we make in life. And that's what it's about, it's not whether or not 100 people think this way or that way, it's about how people feel, and everything we do is about how people feel and that's the data that you want. It helps you win cases, increase intake and get new cases.’

The webinar on AI's impact on case value identification was an eye-opening event, revealing how EmotionTrac's cutting-edge technology is reshaping the legal landscape. By leveraging AI and emotional data, law firms can gain a deeper understanding of their cases, connect with juries on a more profound level, and ultimately enhance their chances of success.
